The Hollow - Who Put Bella in the Wych Elm

In 1943, four boys stumbled on a skeleton hidden in a hollow in a Wych Elm near Stourbridge, England. The identity of the skeleton and the circumstances of its concealment were never uncovered, but in 1944 a piece of graffiti was daubed on a nearby monument ‘Who Put Bella in the Wych Elm’.

Under the pen-name Corvin Belkor, I’ve imagined a solution to the mystery, writing a fictional story that weaves wartime trauma, the idealising of youth, and the recurring presence of the mysterious tree.

The story is available as an ePub document on Bookmundo.
