We are taught to wipe the mud from our shoes before we come inside.

Over time, I think I’ve realised that I’ve spent a lot of my life doing exactly that; trying to clean myself up before I enter a room, before I speak, before I share anything of myself.

Muddy Feet came from noticing that.

Most of the poems in this collection weren’t written carefully or strategically. They arrived quickly; in the early morning, in moments of discomfort, in small observations of the world outside and the world within. I wrote them, adjusted a few words here and there, and then left them alone.

They're not perfect. Some of them probably feel unfinished. Some of them contradict each other.

The collection moves through things that don’t always sit comfortably in polite spaces: doubt, restlessness, small fears, quiet joys, and the strange way the mind can take a simple moment and turn it into something much larger. There are poems about light, about noise in the night, about identity, about not quite knowing where you stand. There are also poems that are simple and ordinary, because most of life is.

If anything ties them together, it’s this:

They are written with muddy feet.

The book is now available HERE on Amazon.

If you read it, I hope you find something in it that feels familiar.
